What is Tele-Mental Counseling?

If your circumstances make it difficult or even impossible for you to receive therapy in person, online counseling is a great way to get the care you need. Thrive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC is delighted to offer certified Tele-Mental virtual therapy sessions for mental, psychological, marriage, and family counseling needs. Whether you are interested in PTSD therapy, family therapy, or marriage counseling during this difficult time, it is our goal to serve, support, and guide you. In addition to our online counseling programs, we also have licensed child therapists on staff who can develop your child’s self-expression, as well as manage any emotions. Using child play therapy, we can help a child through a traumatic event, while allowing them to gain self-confidence and social skills. For veterans, active members of the military, first responders, and law enforcement, our experienced first responder therapists are also available online to support your mental health needs.

At Thrive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC, we offer teletherapy counseling to those throughout Apex, Asheville, Cary, Charlotte, Concord, Durham, Fayetteville, Fort Liberty, Greensboro, Greenville, High Point, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem, NC.

While online therapy should not be viewed as a complete substitute for in-person therapy, distance Tele-Mental counseling offers an excellent way to fit therapy into a tricky schedule. Contact us today to schedule your first appointment with one of our licensed therapists.

How Does Tele-Mental Counseling Work?

The preferred mode of online therapy for our patients is video teleconferencing. Our clinicians use Zoom, a secure HIPAA-compliant program, to conduct teletherapy counseling between their smartphone or computer at our office and a personal smartphone or private computer to which the client has access (preferably at their home residence).

We normally require an initial face-to-face meeting at our therapy office before beginning Tele-Mental health services. However, we know that sometimes this is not possible. In those cases, we will substitute a video conference. For more information about our virtual therapy options, please call or email us; one of our Tele-Mental certified clinicians will be glad to answer your questions.

Is Tele-Mental Counseling Secure?

Your privacy and confidentiality is one of our top priorities. Our video teleconferencing program, Zoom, is secure and fully HIPAA-compliant. This will always be our preferred mode for providing all teletherapy counseling sessions. While there are other forms of communication available, such as cell phones, email, or text messaging, we do not recommend using them except as a means of coordinating appointments. For more information about information security and confidentiality, see the Tele-Mental Behavior Therapy Consent Form .
