Thriving Not Surviving: Life After Trauma

CONTINUING EDUCATION TRAINING BRIEF

Virtual Therapy Greensboro, NC
THRIVING NOT SURVIVING:
Life After Trauma

Full-Day Training Event
Earn 6 NBCC Continuing Education Hours
COURSE OVERVIEW
We now know that our brains are shaped by and for the environment and relationships we find ourselves in. This has serious implications for children, adolescents, and adults exposed to toxic stress, trauma, and adversity. We also recognize that toxic stress, trauma, and adversity have the ability to impact brain development and function and are associated with behavioral and physical health effects.

The antidote is found in resilience: identifying and building upon a child, adolescent, or adult's inherent resilience, which in turn supports the development of executive function, regulation, and healthy attachment.

This unique full-day training will bring these concepts to life; participants will learn about cutting-edge therapies, such as EMDR, that are on the forefront of trauma recovery, with special focus on application to the military community. This includes a live EMDR demonstration! In addition, participants will receive instruction on interventions and strategies for supporting brain growth and healing. Participants will earn 6 NBCC CE hours.
