Sam is a Provisionally Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina. She is currently working towards completing the licensure process to become a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor in North Carolina as well. She graduated with a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University in June 2015.
She started in the field of psychology during her undergraduate degree when she began to volunteer for a local domestic violence shelter. During the course of her graduate studies she interned at a local non-profit counseling agency in California that worked with clients of all ages on a variety of client concerns. Since graduating with her master's, she has provided counseling services in client homes, in school settings, and at non-profit and private counseling agencies. She is currently completing a continuing education course for Play Therapy.
She is passionate about working with clients of all ages, and is experienced in providing individual and joint sessions. Some of her favorite counseling areas to work with are Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Trauma, and Communication. She uses an integrated approach of CBT, Rogerian, Behavioral, and EFT therapies to help her clients.
